Character can be seen by the way you play Minesweeper

Minesweeper is a game that require much concentration and fast response to number. It also needs you to make decisions fast.

If you have a small island of boxes which are not clicked, and not much clue of which box will contained mine. However there are left big chunk of boxes which are not clicked, and it is easy to guess where the mines are located. Which will you choose to solve first?

Small island or big easy island??

Few weeks ago, I will choose the small island. My reason is why not take the risk to solve the small island, if it can not be solved, it will only be wasting my time to step on mines when I am almost finish the game. I chose to take the risk.

However, the current me will choose to solve the big chunk, easy to solves boxes.

I found it is much easy to solve all the boxes, by solving the chunk first.

Whenever I saw the small dangerous island of mines, automatically my mind will give out warning that I may steps on mines. Emotionally, I will be eager to solve the small dangerous island, a.k.a. committing suicide.

It is easier to solve it by clicking the big chunk first, because one clue may leads to many clues. My mind will be more relax and more rational to make decision. It is always not good to make decision when the mind is not calm. It will only lead to disaster, such as killed by mines, may lose a leg or head.

I had learn to be more patient and not rushing in making decision. Sometimes there is the need to stop, analyze and think in our life. It may seems right at the moment something happened. After some calming session and thorough thinking, everything may become clear, and found it it was a consequence of a wrong decision.

Asking for advice is not bad. But only you know the best about your situation. In your consideration, your friends' advice can only be used as a guide. We have to make the decision for ourselves, meaning don't fully trust your friends' advices.

There is an exceptional though. If someone thinking to commit suicide, I mean real suicide such as by jumping from high without any bungee rope attached or drink poison, if your friend told you not to kill yourself, you should really trust your friend on this. Just don't trust the wrong friend!!!!!

My 2009... Cameroon, Angola, Jojo

My 2009 began with a ‘once in a lifetime’ trip to a war zone. It is located at Bakassi Peninsular, Cameroon. (It is Cameroon, not Cameron Highland.) When one of tugboats attacked by ‘unknown attacker’ or ‘pirate’ or ‘independence fighter, I first handed experienced emergency evacuation from our barge and almost get the chance to see the famous ‘big banana’.

Barge pulled by tugboat

Arrived at local jetty

With my colleagues

Going back to barge

Scary experience, I was lowered down by the captain of the soldiers.

March is my birthday. As usual, everyone in the whole earth celebrated my birthday, by giving flowers to women. First time I drove to pick up all my friends (4 friends) for a dinner and ice cream at Dessert. The day after my birthday, I flew to work, a new place, new country, Angola.

As I was eager to have a hobby, to make my life less vain, I bought Canon 500D. I called it my ‘Cup D’. Through this hobby, I get to know more friends also known as ‘photo leg’, ‘photokaki’. I hope they will not forget me while I am away..

REMEMBER TO CALL ME WHEN HAVE PHOTOSHOOT EVENT!!

Accidents of the year are:
@ Car enter into drain
@ Dropped my mobile phone, stepped on it and cracked its screen.
@ Hand in love with door handle
@ Almost frozen in Johannesburg

The wedding of the year is my friend’s wedding in Bali, Ritual Bali. Nice chapel.
Bride's niece, looks like mini version of my friend.

Buying lunch, 'nasi padang'.

Camwhoring with the kids. The kids like me very much. :)

The bride

Me and her

Me, The storyteller of a love story.

However the most important event of the year is joining gospel work in Sabah.

Preaching of gospel at Beaufort Train Station.

 Lord's table meeting.

My best guy friend for the year is.. and my best girl friend of the year is..*

The saddest thing happened in the year is the passing away of my dog, Jojo. He was considered as my youngest scary brother.

Jojo, he looks like the Wookiee from Star Wars.

The worst outbreak of the year is the acne outbreak on my face.

My 2009 is indeed well-balanced physically, socially, and spiritually, and lived without regret.  Everything that happened had made me more mature. Hope it will be much better in 2010.

Happy New Year to all!!

A thing happened and everything just changed

A thing happened and everything just changed...

Even the thing does not happened on me and it is not a bad thing to happen.

However, everything just changed.....

I guess I have to deal with the change and adjust myself to the change...

New year is coming... What should I do in 2010?

Should I be selfish and do whatever I want?

Should I... do something I do not want?

Dilemma appeared when trust is not there.....

Pondering "Don't ever compare your boyfriend/girlfriend with your ex."

Usually in tips about relationship, one of the tips will be:
"Don't ever compare your boyfriend/girlfriend with your ex."

Seiously, why would someone choose bf/gf who acts like her/his ex?

I do not think anyone will want someone to remind her/him about her/his ex. It is suffering enough without anyone reminds her/him about the EX. It is better to apply Aloe vera cream on the wound than salt.

Personally, I will want to avoid attracted to anyone who reminds me of my ex. History is better be left alone, and not to be repeated.

I am sure the one you having now is much better than your ex. If you have the tendency to compare, just said "you are much better than my ex, you won't be mine if you are no better."

The End.

However, the pondering still continues....................

Illusion

Illusion, according to Mirriam-webster dictionary 1 a obsolete : the action of deceiving b (1) : the state or fact of being intellectually deceived or misled : misapprehension (2) : an instance of such deception.

It is like putting a cute dog in front of a mirror. The illusion makes the cute dog fights with the mirror, thinking there is another dog in the room.

Or
During Chinese's Winter Solstice Festival, 22 December 09, ate

and

as substitute for 'Tang yuen'. Tang yuen is food made from glutinous rice floor and is made in round shape. Then boiled in hot water, and eaten with crushed peanut.

In Happy Winter Solstice Festival post of Sarawakiana.blogspot.com, it is nicely illustrated how to cook tang yuen.
Pringles and orange is good replacement for 'tang yuen', as it is round and have bit colour.
Not a bad illusion at all.

Or

Treat any unwanted attention as illusion.

Christmas wish to those who celebrate.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate Christmas!
Wish everyone the best!

For my 24 December 09, I drank coffee using Christmas as an excuse.
Caffeine is my forbidden food, because I may become hyper active or numb.
So I use the opportunity to get hang over with caffeine.
If anyone found me walking around with a blank look, or me jumping around, just blame it on Christmas!
Warm regards,
Nana

Last night, while I was scrolling down Uncle Lee's post of  X'mas Greetings, Happy Holidays To You,

A Wooden Bowl from a forwarded email, from a dear friend who is very secretive

The Wooden Bowl

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now,
A year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year
-old grandson.

The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
Failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,' said the son.

'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.

There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.

Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.

He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.
' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,
Neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:

A rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a 'life..'

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You nee d to be able to throw
 something back sometimes.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you
But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others,
Your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.

People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

I've learned that you should pass this on to everyone you care about .I just did.

FRIENDSHIP CANDLE

NOTICE AT THE END,
THE DATE THE CANDLE WAS STARTED.
GONNA GIVE YOU GOOSE BUMPS.

I am not going to be the one who lets it die. I found it believable --
Angels have walked beside me all my life--and they still do

*********************

This is to all of you who
Mean something to me,
I pray for your happiness.
The Candle Of Love, Hope & Friendship

This candle was lit on the
15th of September, 1998

Someone who loves you has helped

Keep it alive by sending it to you.

Don't let The Candle of Love, Hope and Friendship die

Pass It On To All Of Your Friends
And Everyone You Love!
May God richly bless you!

Children

When I was browsing through http://www.miricommunity.net, I just realised that One Life Exhibition was in Miri from 10-13 December 09.

Although I can't attend the exhibition, I can feel the atmosphere in the exhibition through the site.

It reminded me of the day I arrived Soyo, Angola in this hitch. When I was in the bus waiting to go to the port, I was looking out from my window and a saw a kid. The kid was carrying a plastic bag filled with empty water bottles. When the kid saw me looking at him, his hand signalling to me, asking for water or food. Too bad I did not have any food, nor water with me that time. It was a very pitiful sight. He was not asking for money, but something to eat or drink. Food and drink are more important commodity than money in Angola.

When I was in Egypt, I saw there are many children walking around asking for money and also children selling stuff in the middle of the road. On one occasion, after I had my lunch at Pizza Hut opposite Pyramids at Giza, I was carrying big bottle half full with Coke. Once I stepped outside, there are kids asking for money, then I just give them the bottle of Coke. However it is a different sight in Port Said, Egypt. Everything is neat in Port Said.  Its role as an important harbour strategically located near Suez Canal, had made the town have proper development. Hardly can see kids wonder around asking for money. I only saw that there are many school children with neat and white school uniform coming out from schools.

Few years ago, I read about Romanian street children in BBC online news, they have to stay underground to keep them warm. As in Malaysia, we do not have winter, I think most of Malaysian never think of how street children survive through cold winter without proper clothes and heat. Many just die from hunger and cold, and no one care about their existence and death. When I went to Romania, looking at those street children knocking on car's door begging for money, I was just speechless, thinking they are the underground children which I read online. They are real.

Adapted from BBC News in picture:
"They live in tunnels, sewers and drainage holes, hidden beneath Addis Ababa's teeming streets.
They move from one makeshift shelter to the next, chased away by police or the rivers of water and refuse that flow when the rains come.
Growing up amidst the traffic, they learn to hustle at a young age seeking change or selling small items to drivers at traffic lights."

The childrens are the future of a country. Without proper education and care, there goes the future of the country into the drain. Life is not just about 'I' or 'ME', or about humping around like rabbits, or about vagina and penis. There are many things going around you and me. We only need to stop complaining about how bad our life is and how bad our work is. Just stop and observe. Everything around us is there for a reason. Do not take anything as granted.

Happy New Year!

Miri Community

Below is a conversation between my dad and the motel owner in Singapore, during our breakfast.
My dad : We are from Miri.
Owner :  Ooo.. Miri. That oil producer town, Miri. That city o, if you dig dig the backyard of a house, oil will just gush out o.
(Pardon my Nanaish version of Singlish)

I almost choked on my morning tea when I heard that. I guess that all Mirian are rich now, with oil gushing out from their backyard.

Miri, view from Canada Hill.
Miri is also known as Oil Town. One of the main industries in Miri is oil and gas, but we do not have oil gushing out of our backyard.

I am Mirian, but who is Mirian??? Miri was a fishing village before oil was found in 1882. Basically, it means Miri was a very very small village, which lived on fishing income. That is one of the reason not many Mirian are pure Mirian. Most of Mirians are actually migrants from other towns in Sarawak and Brunei. I was born in Sibu and my family moved to Miri when my dad had to work between Miri-Brunei. During big celebration such as Chinese New Year, the city will be isolated as many will go back to their hometown.

Here are some jokes about Mirian (Credit to my brother):
1. There are no pretty girls (Mei nu) in Miri (Mei li), Miri (Mei li) only have 'Mei nu', but the 'Mei' is 'Fa mei (mold)'s 'Mei'. This joke sound better in Mandarin language.
2. Comparing to Sibu, Miri's ladies have longer duration from expiry date, that's why Miri's ladies do not get married as young as Sibu's girls.

All those jokes originated from my unmarried elder brother. I guess he made up those jokes as excuses for not being able to get a girlfriend in Miri.

Community in Miri is a very close knitted community. Everybody knows everybody's business, that's where the term of 'busybody comes into our community. Actually, we are just being friendly to each other, not nosy about each other. In my neighbourhood, we still trust our neighbour to take care of our house when we are out of town. I do not think that can still be done in big city such as Kuala Lumpur or Johor. We only need to behave ourselves when we are in Miri, if we do not want any rumour going around in the city.

This is Miri City Council Emblem. The emblem consist of blue colour, yacht (Miri as resort city), Seahorse (Miri's mascot), Periwinkle (Miri's official flower), Grand Oil Lady (Miri's Landmark signified Miri as Oil and Gas producer), Pustaka Miri (symbolized educational and IT excellence), buildings (development in Miri) and Golf (sports and recreation).

Wherever we go around the city, we can see many signboard and design related to seahorse. Once you touched down at Miri Airport and going to the city center, the first roundabout encountered is a roundabout with seahorses. At Marina Bay, there is a lighthouse designed in the shape of seahorse, signaling Miri is there for you even when you are offshore.

Adapted from Miri City council's website:
"Sea Horse has a unique, beautiful and distinctive figure. Its gentle and charming nature has often been used by the people to denote many good values in life such as caring for each other and possessing an upright character. It also symbolizes harmonious relationship and peacefulness. As it is living in the sea, it signifies Miri's close relationship with the sea, coral reef and a resort paradise."

Indeed it is....

It is a really good emblem actually. First impression of the emblem is that Miri is a rich city. Indeed Miri is a rich city. Miri is rich of oil, and a resort city as well. Miri attracted many tourists with our Mount Mulu National Park, Niah National Park, Lambir Hills National Park and Loagan Bunut National Park. Miri have so many caves until I said I live in cave when some naive person asked me does Sarawakians still live on trees.

Personally, Miri is a home for me. I know Miri is always there for me. I wish it is same for all Mirian. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, remember to contribute some to your home, Miri.

Safety first

Imagining I am flying home... get out of the small small town in a small small plane..

Sitting on my small small seat, having a big big smile on my face...

First thing to do when on a plane, you have to notice where is the emergency exit.
It is very important to know where is it, how many rows of chair from you.
It is because during emergency, you may need to find the exit using only your touching sense.

Remember to read all the signs on the plane.

This exit weighs 23 pounds.
Noticed how a person get out through the emergency exit.

2nd most important thing is to read the safety brochure. Every plane has their own emergency escape procedure. Reading the brochure may decrease the anxiety if anything happen, because you know what you should do during emergency evacuation.

Noticed that seat cushion of this plane can be use as a float, flotation cushion.

I would not know  that it is flotation cushion if I did not read the safety brochure.

*Sigh* It is only the first step to reach home....

A small small plane to get me out of a small small town, to get to a small town.

Still have more imaginations to go before I reach home. By the time I finish my imagination, I bet it is time for me to go home too.

Ungrateful Bastard

How can a person changed so dramatically after that person does not need you anymore?

Recently, a person seek for my help in something.

It begin with a thread of message in Facebook.
Before that person get to the main point, that person was writing very nicely. We talked about our old school and bla bla bla. I knew from the beginning his motive of sending the message, I was only waiting for him to sound it out.

Finally he get to the main point, asking for my help in something. Many people before asked me for same help before. So I do not mind helping another homo sapien in the same matter. Many homo sapien whom I help forgot about my help, but it is fine with me.

After I helped that homo sapien, I was kidding around with him by asking for a treat from him. That homo sapien's first reply indicates he is not fond of the idea. Somehow, I felt that I scared him by doing that. Maybe that homo sapien is afraid to be alone with me while having an non-alcoholic drink.

Anyway, a drink session is just a normal 'yamcha' (gathering) session, with no interior motive. Does that homo sapien need to be that scare? Was I wearing my tigress face when I wrote the message? Can't I have a 'thanks' treat from that person?

No worries, homo sapien. I do not want to be alone with you when drinking non-alcoholic drink. It is because my dad said it is dangerous to be alone with a man.

I guess that homo sapien would like to be alone with me for an alcoholic drink session.................................................. No thanks!

P.S : Thanks for breaking my mental block, that homo sapien.

Go search Google

What is the point of chatting and communication when all answer to questions are available in Google??

Asking question is one way to keep a virtual chat going on and interesting.

When one try to keep the chat going on by asking question, while the other one keep answering with "Go search Google". I see no point how that conversation can go on.

Usually, when I have virtual conversation about a topic with a friend, even I know there is the answer in Google or Wiki, I will search for it instead of asking my friend at the virtual world to search of it. In order to spice up the conversation, copy paste excerpt of the wiki which is interesting and can be analyzed together to the chat window.

I know I can find everything in Google. Should I just cut off every communication with living human being? Google is the smartest friend. Should I just dump every friend who is not as smart as Google?

It is fine to feel bored chatting with me and say good night...

Comment about Relationship

I found this comment at a blog, which is very informative and realistic.

"For good relationships to start, people should not be seen as possessions to be desired. Just be natural and enjoy good company. If something special clicks, then it's fated. If someone else has already made the connection, then remain as distant friends. Don't ruffle the water by making effort to pull away or to get closer. Keep it loose and friendly.

Make more friends. Then the problem gets spread out. Also more chances are created (;P).

Sometimes we may like someone like crazy but that person just cannot return the same passion. It's fated. Later when we think back, maybe it was better that way. Relationships that are not built on natural feelings but based on artificial reasons built on personal needs exclusively will not last long without pain.

A good and strong relationship is always built on real love and true understanding. Real because it will be tested time and again, and true because it will be needed time and again. There will be many hurdles to overcome together along the same road of life for both. The initial feelings will have to settle down to the mundane things like budgeting and helping to grow each other's strengths and reduce each other's weaknesses.

If such thoughts and feelings are shown at the very beginning, then the person who will be the one will be better able to appreciate the other person.

That 'someone' is just one out of seven billion today. Yet the miracle given to those who are ready to receive it is that one day somehow one special 'someone' will turn up.

Because that special 'someone' will at the same moment also experience that same miracle."

Hometown

Looking for a life partner is not like looking for a business partner or a accessory.
A life partner does not have to be very rich or very good looking.
As long as the person's look is bearable, personality will somehow surpass the look.
If wanting a rich partner, as well as marry a bank.
Most importantly is for a couple is to love each other.

My trip to my hometown this time is still same as before. My hometown hardly changed. The last time, I wrote bout my hometown is around 3 years ago, here is the post - Back to the Memory Lane.

The small town have been developing fast, but still many things remain unchanged.

Matchmaking is going hot in the town!!! Matchmaking in other town have modernized its way... but in my hometown.... the procedures is still same same old style.....

I do not mind matchmaking, but I mind if the matchmaker made it sound like 'riches exhibition.' It means by the matchmaking begin with introduction of how rich is the guy, how many house the guy have, or how many maids he has at home, how many business he own...... It will sound like someone is selling his daughter....

The concept of 'wife' in my hometown is bit different. Most people in my hometown still treat 'wife' as washing machine, vacuum cleaner, baby-producing-machine, 'penunggu' or 'house ghost.' Wife is better just stay at home....

Sibu still a heaven of food! Even though I am sick, I still want to try every delicious and forbidden food!! My uncle's noodle is the best! nyam nyam...

Anyhow, Sibu guys like to bullshit.

Boom boom car

Boom boom car

After a morning full of kid's event, it really brings me back to the fun of being a kid. Dancing and singing...
The event makes me smile and laugh. 'Ho chiak!' = nice to eat, is the best song I heard this morning. Ho chiak! with big spoon and cute cook....

Then at afternoon, when I was waiting beside 'boom boom car' area, the kind-of-isolated area is so relaxing, with highway as background. Few kids booming each other's boom boom car really brightened up my day once again. It makes me giggling away....

However, old song at the back really turn everything off. I wonder why kid's song is so happy, while oldies is so sad. Oldies song played at my back only about broken heart, unwanted love... Being a grown up does not need to be as sad as that oldies.
Most present songs are bout love and broken heart too. Won't it be good if more songs are like kid's song? Relaxing and happier...

Ladyboy is also human

It is written ladyboy is also human... but... that youtube post is degrading ladyboy..
If the producer wanted to convey the message that ladyboy is also human, he did a bad job in it!

I agreed that ladyboy is also human. Many ladyboy are successful in their career as makeup artist, dancer, cook, baker, etc.

This youtube post does not do a justice to ladyboy!!

Not all ladyboy involved in sex industry. The producer proved to be narrow minded by making such video and saying ladyboy is also human.

Enough said!

When your job becomes your life and everything....

How do you know when your job becomes your life and everything....
1. when all your friends are colleagues.
2. when you still talk to your colleagues about what happen at work when you are on leave.
3. when you feel that you have the obligation to send a photo taken in your friend (also colleague)'s wedding to your boss.
4. when you have sweet dreams about your office.
5. when your spouse is also your colleague!!!

No coloured hair in office!!!

No coloured hair in office!!!

This is one of the office rules of one of the big big company in my hometown...
So old school... or communist regime......

My friend who just worked in the company and she did not know the existence of the rule when she join the company. Her colleague who dyed her hair for pre-wedding photoshoot was warned by her supervisor and asked to dye it back to black!

Friend : I just know that we can not dye our hair. It is a regulation of the company.
Nana : No wonder my mother said that SY's female employees are old fashion and mostly spinsters.
Friend : Are you saying that I won't get married???!!
Nana : No! No! You are still young and beautiful.......*_*'''

Is there any human right? Do they think that their personnel have no sensible thoughts of having a decent hairstyle to work in a boring office environment?

Perhaps they are communist idealist. All having black hair.. All wearing same clothes... All not allowed to be exposed to the deceitful internet.... All wearing flat shoes....

Maybe safety is their main concern. Coloured hair is blinding eyes. Fashion show may encourage beauty competition among females which will end up having cat fight during work time. Internet is harmful to health as it may cause imbalance hormone. Flat are to avoid tripping over their own high heels.

Tips for interview :  Dye your hair black!
