2nd Miri Tattoo Exhibiton

This weekend attended 2nd Miri Tattoo Exhibiton at Eastwood Golf Club & Resort. This exhibition started on 28 October, and last for 3 days. Finally my camera is out of his hiding. Extra mold on its body, spices up my photo.

There are live bands performing for the whole day.
Call me outdated or anything, I don't get what they were singing really.
This band group is ok.
Next band is worse.
All they do is shout~~~Arrrgggghhhhhhhhhhh EEEEEEEEEEEee..

This old is a tough old man. He started this tattoo from the 1st day, and continue it on second day. Mind you, he is skinny, have only skin and bone, no fat at all. It is more painful when you are thin.
Make me wonder what he do for living.

Admire this tattoo artis, he looks so cool with his mask. Seems like he is the only one  is wearing a mask while tattooing.
Meanwhile his masterpiece is too sexy for me, if not mistaken he is wearing boxer.

Cool, right?

This lady is having tattoo for both of her shoulders. It makes me think of Naruto.

Tattoo artis is so attentive to their art.

Not to forget it is Halloween too~~~

Stay tune for body suspension!!!

how much is enough for traveling photos?

Try read this,
It is not easy to have good photographs when traveling with non-photographers. Whenever I go travel, my camera is always with me and I took photos of almost everything. Believe me. Even my colleagues said that my next generation would go through an evolution and be born with only one eye, can be zoom out and zoom in. Then it would saved them a lot of money from buying camera.

When we travel, we tend to move very fast as time = money is flying as it passed. We won't have much time to stop and admire something. Our eyes, and also memory won't catch as much details as a camera does.

@ preference of cameras
I usually carry around my compact camera and DSLR. DSLR is not very convenient when I am alone and around complicated neighbourhood. It is a big risk to be mobbed. It is very good to carry a compact camera when visiting places that forbid camera. Once I went to pyramid, camera is not allowed in the pyramid. My camera was nicely hide in my pocket and the guard didn't try to touch me because I am a lady. For guys, it is better to hide it in your underwear.

@regret or not.
It is very recommended to browse through your photos everyday with a bigger screen than your camera screen. Then you would realise how few your photos are and what pose you look best. It is much better to regret for one day then regret after 1 week holiday.

@quality VS quantity
Average quality for more quantity is my principle. Interesting details may slipped out of your finger when you are trying to capture the beauty of your mole. Capture photo with flash help prevent blur, somehow not applicable when shooting through window panel.
@subject
When I travel, I always took photos of rubbish bins, as you already know. Did I wrote that rubbish bin can represent how the locals care for their hygiene? It is kind of hard to take photos of locals, without making them feeling like they are something from the zoo. It is highly recomended to smile to your subject, and small talk to make them comfortable before snap snap. After snap snap, show them their photos and praise them. It makes everyone happy. Or you can behave like a paparazi, hide behind a bush, pretend you are just holding your camera and not looking at your viewfinder and snap snap. Then quickly leave the future crime scene.

@remember
Remember to take nice photos of your face for Facebook profile photo.
Remember that no one know you at the foreign soil, making funny pose is permissible.
Remember to charge battery everyday, and bring universal adapter whenever travel.
Isn't she cute? No posing, just natural. Just like her curly hair, hair colour, skin colour and her eyes. This photo was taken on my flight from Jakarta to Makassar.

Semporna trip July 2010

Disappearance with a reason, and not an excuse.

Last week, I went to Tawau and Semporna with Miri Photographic society. It is my first time to that part of Sabah. When we were in Semporna, we rent boats to have offshore experience. We rent a boat for RM350 a day. When I came back from the trip, I get to know that can actually rent a boat for RM 150 +RM 70 (fuel). If you would like to get the contact, I can get it from my friend. Just contact me by clicking the icon CONTACT.

Although we were near Sipadan and Mabul and many more popular islands, we didn't get to go due to limited time. So near yet so far.... We only get to go to Bintang Biru and Omadal Island. Bintang Biru is very nice place. It is an island during low tide, and is an flooded island during high tide. People who stays at Bintang Biru are from Bajau Laut ethnic.

When we were at Bintang Biru, we saw lifestyle of Bajau Laut. Kids with natural bronze hair, ladies with Bajau's SKII. For those who have not setup a house on the water, stay in a small boat.

In the small boat, they cook and sleep. Accidentally, we saw a mother breastfeeding her baby. Although many of my photographer gang took photo of her nursing, exposing her breasts, I refused to take a photo of her. If I am in her shoes, I won't want my photo to be taken in such pose.

IF
one day, Malaysia remained outdated, when some countries succeeded to establish a nation who lives on floating ground. When the nation came to visit us who still lived on earth ground, I am sure they will have the same feeling like us when we saw community of Bajau Laut. When they saw us breastfeeding babies, they will also want to take photos of the us through our house windows.

I don't want this to happen to me. I believe in karma. If that one day come, I don't want they took photo of me breastfeeding!!!

So beware when taking photos with your friends!

Beware! Beware!

There are many thing to beware of, because nowadays there are many social network. Even if you are very careful when you post your photos online or write anything too personal online, you still need to beware of virtual world.

I am sure all of us have friends, and our friends also have online social network. Even if you don't post it online, your friend may do it for you , without your consent. Everyone have their own rights to take photos, and everyone have their own rights to post their own photos online. Unknowingly, the photos not only contain the camera owner's face, but also owner's friend face.

Recently I joined swimming class with my friend. My friend is an extreme camwhore. Always carrying camera around (asking people) to take photo of herself.

As usual, with her camera, we took a photo with our coach, wearing our swimming suit. Not long after that, she uploaded it to online social networks.
LUCKILY!!! When I took the photo, I covered myself modestly with a towel. IF NOT, I don't know how to face the world!

As Danny said, Less Cloth not necessary SEXY!

The photo actually is nice, it is suitable posted online because I look modest with the towel. Luckily I didn't listen to her advise to remove the towel and let all see my ........ ahhh malunya (shy).

So beware when taking photos with your friends! And also beware of my camera! Snap snap snap!

Cute trapped lizard

Let's continue talking about lizard in this post. Introducing the main subject...

Deng Deng DENG!!

It is all about trapped lizard.

Finally, I understood their feeling, trapped lizards' feeling. Being confined in a restricted compartment and feeling lost.

Recently, attended a photographers gathering, mostly talked about cameras, lenses and photos. Admitting that I am not a good student, havn't do my revision for a long time. When they photographers talked about lenses, cameras....

SO MANY NUMBERS!!!!
I had only small idea of what they were talking about!

Although I work with numbers, I still have problem with numbers.
So not acting smart or pro, I just kept quiet while googling the numbers in my limited database (mind). Lucky my processor still working fine and silent.

'ok... this number comes with a D... This must be camera model. Yes, mine is still 500D'
'This number so familiar, and very big... must be a zoom zoom lense.'

I still love photography. It is just that I was infected by lazy bug, thus abandon my camera when I am at home. Is this a good excuse?

Almost all of my photos (some from google) in this blog was taken by me. I took photo of everything with my digital camera, since I had a digital camera 5 years ago. At last, all those photos come in handy for this blog.

Although the gathering is a challenging session for me, I still will attend such gathering in future. Thanks for inviting me, Ann Ann.

Dear readers, hope you all enjoy the photo of trapped lizards.

WARNING! Prepare a plastic bag before you read this post. You may feel disgusted and puke.

This warning comes too late?

B&W experiment

What do you see? This photo is a just an experiment.
I always love colour photo. I changed it to greyscale. From my point of view, wet stains on the stairs had become clearer and the condition of the bike is clearer now.
I figured out it shows many detail in B&W.
Every photo is a taste of the photographer and fulfillment of client's requirement.
My client is me myself.

Do you think it is nice too?

Sepilok Orang Utan (Men of the Forest) Rehabilitation

Last month, we drove from Miri (Sarawak) to Sabah, passing through Brunei twice. The farthest we went was Sandakan. One of many destination we went in Sandakan is Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Although we only saw two Orang Utan during the feeding time, it was still a meaningful visit. This centre adopt Orang Utan orphans and rehabilitate them, so they can go back to the forest again.

Sepilok Orang Utan Centre is sponsored by Travellers worldwide.
Read this post written by Airasia blog for some information.

Sepilok have adoption programme, and many programmes, chances for us to help the centre and Orang Utan. I didn't get to catch the details of adoption, and I were in rush to go back to Sandakan town. Hence, I helped the centre by buying their T-shirts. Their shirts have cute designs.
Aren't they cute? All those designs are located at hip's area. The Orang Utan dance while you move you hip.

Announcing the presence of the queen

As usual, whenever I am back to my home, I will announce my presence in the city, Miri. However, a nice and good shower is more important than the announcement. Yes, shower first!

On 19 Jan 2010, I announced my arrival via Facebook and 'sms'ing to friends who don't play Facebook and also some people who deleted me from his Fb's friend list. Yes, I text messaging some people who deleted me, the story is too long to write, and also too childish to talk about.

Acknowledging my presence is part of my important ritual whenever I am back home. Without this ritual, I am like a ghost to the city. Should I say a lonely ghost....

My experience as ghost was in 2007 & 2008. I was too lazy to announce myself to my friends, and I ended up being forgotten by the society. Those 2 years were my 'isolation' years. No new friends and some friend even 'unfriended' me. From being a shadow to becoming a ghost. During that period, when someone saw me in the city, they thought they saw a ghost.

In 2009, the ghost took a shape as a cute lady and enrolled as a human being. For history, please click.
Tips to become a human being : Adopt a hobby.

Back to 19 Jan 2010, met up with friends for yamcha (drinking tea /  hang around) session. Let's call it as 'tea cupping'. Tea cupping with my bunch of photographer friends is slightly different from normal tea cupping. Everyone of us will be online while tea cupping. We drink tea, we online, we talk, we 'campimping'. We are not whores, so we pimp.

Yet we can't resist of our own beauty, we do 'camwhore' from time to time. *wink*

Internet was as lazy as me

Post for 14 Jan 2010

Was not able to update my blog yesterday.
Because the internet was as lazy as me.
Finished project around noon yesterday.
The last shot was very exciting, had to make sure everything is good before everything is finalised.
And we moved...
Trembling of water reminded me of Jurassic Park.

Post for 15 Jan 2010

Found the book somewhere.. if it is yours, please tell me. It will be in my possession before anyone claimed it.
If no one want to claim it, I will bring it back next time I come. Hope no one is screwed from missing the book.

Recently, my hobby of reading has come back. I had not be able to finish a book, or should I say, hard for me to even started a book, for quite some time now. I kept losing interest, as fast as I open the cover of a book. However, some books did capture my interest. And mostly, those book are of dark and evil story plot.

Usually you can know the mood of the person by listening the the music the person like. If someone in mood of love, the person will listen to romantic songs. If his heart just had a break, most possibly sad heart breaking song will emitted from his mp3 player. It is like, judge a book from its content, or judge a person form the song he is listening, or ......

(I just hope that I won't become more evil than I am now.)

....don't judge because you are not almighty God.

Lazy and sleepy post....

My mental note.

I admit I am too lazy to even hold my camera.
I promised to post a photo everyday. So I guess a JPG is counted as long as I described my day with a photo.

My ex housemate once called ourselves as fellow pig.
Fellow pigs like to sleep.
Whenever we have free time, we sleep.
Sometimes when we hang around on the bed, chatter away, we can end up sleeping.
Yes, we prefer sleeping than talking.

When I was in uni, UTM, I usually go to the library, Perpustakaan Sultanah Zakariah.
I go there to sleep. I heard it is forbidden to sleep in the library. In order not to get caught sleeping, you can use my tips.
Tips: put a open book on the table, and put your head on it as if your are reading, and hold a pen in your hand. Then sleep.
BEWARE of drooling saliva! So use library books. Pile the books up high to make sure you neck in comfortable position. You won't want to get stiff neck.

When I travel, I usually sleep at airports. I am a bum to any airport.
Tips to sleep at airport: Use a jacket to cover your face and if possible your bum (I covered it because it is a lady bum.)
If you snore, people won't know it is you who slept there.
BEWARE of missing the flight!! Remember to set alarm to wake you up.

I even fell asleep when I was working, when I was doing data processing.
Tips: Sit on the chair (better with chair with headrest), leaning on it, with your hand on the mouse. Move the mouse or clicking as if you are working. Then have a half sleep.

Once in a lecture, I tried to be awake for the mathematics lecture. I sat on the front row, hoping the lecturer's voice can keep me awake. I even forced my eyes open wide.
However, the numbers became sheep counting and forcing me to doze off.
I woke up after a minute of dozing off.
My lecturer said I look scary when I was sleeping, like a dead fish with my eyes open, but only white eyes, with no cornea. He didn't mentioned my name, but I know it is me. Because I was sitting at front row, in front of him, staring at him while I was sleeping.

My physic lecturer had to tell us about inertia and gravity theory applied on shitting to make me fully awake, when he saw me dozing off in his class.

How shit fall downward and not upward when you are shitting...

Wasted few minutes saying hi to them, but no reply.
Waited and almost deleted that person from my friend list.
Well, I scolded the friend from being so annoying.
We are still friend after the scolding event.
When the project is finishing, I am very busy busy busy busy.

Flower, originally uploaded by Miumiu Liu liu.

While I am stuck at home, I found a tutorial in DPS. I produced a kaleidoscope from a photo of butterfly and flower.

I am super stud in photoshop. This tutorial is gave me a chance to know more of basic setting of Photoshop.
At least something to do before I am bored to death.

Below is the original photo, taken at Butterfly Garden, Terminal 3, Changi Singapore Airport.
